Citroën UK required an impressive set of photographic images and exhibition graphics to showcase the all new C3 model for the UK press launch. The four day launch gives UK journalists a chance to see, test drive, and gather both information, and a set of photographs of the car to use in their magazines, papers and online platforms.
The brief was simple. Citroën wanted clean, crisp modern images in a suitable location for this funky cool all new vehicle. We’d need to supply approximately forty static, dynamic and interior images for use in the journalists press packs. The main ‘hero’ two car shot would be used to produce a five metre wide freestanding graphic panel for the main launch presentation.

The lead time was going to be short. The first two cars were to arrive in the UK November 15th, with journalists eager to see them, this meant the window for photography was only going to be two or three days.

The launch had been booked at the amazing Stanbrook Abbey in Worcestershire. A 16th century abbey doesn’t sound like the sort of building which might work as a backdrop for a modern little car, but having heard it had recently undergone a modern makeover to the front half of the building, a site recce was in order. After a quick trip to Worcester it turns out the 16th century abbey did have a very modern feel, and together with some lovely quiet local roads that would be good for dynamic shots, the decision was made. A couple of phone calls to Stanbrook and the photo location was secured.
The date and photographer chosen and booked, all we had to do was hope for good weather. Being December in England, what could go wrong?!

The weather for shoot day wasn’t looking great with heavy rain forecast over lunchtime. With it getting dark by 4pm it meant an early start was in order. Leaving Blueprint at 5.20am to collect cars from Coventry meant we were in Worcester in time for first light at 7.50am. And what a lovely light it was! The light really was perfect meaning we could shoot lots of options until the heavens opened right on que at 11.30am. After a quick lunch the rain stopped allowing us to shoot interiors and dynamic shots before the light eventually faded.
Our photographer processed and uploaded the images ready for first thing the following morning. We then selected a chosen ‘set’ which we worked on and ‘polished’ in photoshop before being presented to Citroën for use in the press packs.
The two car shot was a perfect fit for the wide pop up display backdrop. The PVC banner artwork for the external graphic was designed with both being produced using our in-house large format printing equipment.
Everything was delivered direct to the launch hotel as agreed with Citroën.

All high res shoot images are archived in-house for future use.
